Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Many children will experiences some difficulties at school. If this is with their learning, often a little extra support will address the problem, sometimes more support is required or a referral to a specialist such as the educational Psychologist to provide some advice.

Increasingly we are seeing an increase in emotional literacy and mental health issues which can have a profound effect on a child's well-being, engagement, achievement and progress at school. We try to provide support for children experiencing these difficulties, often someone to talk to is enough, but the involvement of a service such as CYPS, (children and young people's service), Primary Mental Health or School Health may be necessary.

If you think your child may be experiencing anxiety or low self esteem or is having difficulty at school, it is vital that you talk to us and let us know. Together we can support your child and help them as best we can.

Our SENDCo is Mrs Hawkins who can be contacted via school. If you have any concerns about your child at home or school, please come in and talk to a member of staff.

The Headteacher, SENDCo, will discuss any complaints from parents about the support the school provides for children who have Special Educational Needs.
