Wadterwater Year 4 Residential
June 13th - 15th 2018
What a brilliant 3 days we had a Wastwater with Mr Hopper and his helpers. The children did Allendale Primary School proud by giving 100% to every activity, persevering even if they found it tough.
For many, it was the first time that they had tried canoeing and ghyll scrambling, but that did not stop them from achieving some amazing feats. The number of children who were willing and excited about jumping into the freezing cold Wastwater itself was amazing. The ghyll was slightly warmer which encouraged even more to have a dip. Mr Hopper was extremely impressed with the knowledge of the children on his adventure walk, where they discovered more about the geography and geology of the Lake District.
What was particularly noticeable was how the children helped and encouraged the others in their team, comforting them if they were nervous and giving advice for each task. The children made friends with the others from Shaftoe and Whitfield, helping them just as much as their Allendale friends.
